Each story is linked to the day and the place it happened.
After almost an hour of preaching on the streets, the first gathering sat in a circle under the arcades of St Peter's. On 2 October 2026 the Church of Christ, Derby was born.
The established churches kept their doors shut. Three days after a gathering in a Northumberland drawing room, a church met in a sitting room in Bamburgh.
For nine hundred years Hagia Sophia was the cathedral of Constantinople. Today it is a mosque, and Christ still looks out from its walls. We could pray there only quietly.
On the morning of his wedding James broke his fingers and was rushed to hospital. That afternoon he married Elouise in St John's, Bovey Tracey, and a whole community rejoiced.
Within hours of landing, at a coffee table at Heathrow North, we sat with Brother Chukudi Nwokorie and joined hands for the kingdom in the United Kingdom.
We prayed over all seven churches of Asia. At Laodicea, under a modern roof, the walls and floor of an ancient church still stand, and Ekaba prayed at its altar.
At Paphos, where Paul first confronted sorcery and a Roman ruler believed, we went down into the rock-cut tombs and declared that the land belongs to Jesus Christ.
A year after two young men took ownership of a church in Plymouth, the Fellowship of Christ Church held an open meeting in Exeter. Ten or twelve now gather, with new people among them.
In February Ralph of Budle Hall opened his house to the gospel. By July he was reading the Acts of the Apostles in a stone hut on the moors, and recommending it to his friends.
We never buy car insurance on these trips. On the first night in England a car struck ours and drove away, and the cover we had not meant to buy was waiting.
In New Brunswick a father in the faith built a Bible school with volunteer hands and hospital sheets for walls. Thirty years on, with severe heart disease, he has no thought of stopping.
Nearly three years after it was planted with six souls, the church in Halifax held an open meeting in Dartmouth. The brethren searched the Scriptures for themselves, and a newcomer found what she had come for.
We went straight from the airport to the streets of Halifax with invitations. People were friendly, but few wanted to hear about Jesus Christ.
Ralph made calls before we came. Some asked questions, one swore at him, and Polly simply said yes. On the Lord's day she confessed Christ in her own home.
On Holy Island, the brethren of the Northumbria Community heard the word about the donkey and her colt, and said, “You're talking our language.”
Nine minutes from Bamburgh Castle, a blowout left two missionaries stranded on a Northumberland road. That night led to an invitation back to Northumberland, and to the house church in Baza, Spain.
Nobody on the team had been to Plymouth or knew anyone there. A room was booked by faith, and after two meetings two young men took ownership of the work.
Young people on the streets of Kraków heard Christ witnessed, made covenant promises, and gave their lives to Him. God gave utterance.
Leaving Kraków before dawn, the team gave their apartment to a mother and two daughters with nowhere to go. Two days later that family opened their home in Zürich.
In Baza, Spain, a church with no titles meets in a house cut into the rock. The Mission found there a people just like themselves, and entered a partnership in the gospel.
On the first night in Caniles, two men in separate rooms saw the same thing. In the morning, a pentagram in something like blood lay fresh on the ground outside.
Once called the End of the World, the Rock stands as a strong man over the region. The team drove four hours to speak against it, and the dinner they had to postpone became a love feast for the whole church.
Before a church could be planted in Halifax, the Lord sent two men to the ocean with anointing oil, to Port Borden by day and New Harbour in a storm at night.
A young woman was convicted, gave her life to Christ, and devils went out of her right there on the pavement. That evening she came to the meeting.
In Amsterdam nobody came to the rented hall but the owner. In London one person came. The team preached to each as if to a thousand.
