“This is actually what I needed”
Nearly three years after it was planted with six souls, the church in Halifax held an open meeting in Dartmouth. The brethren searched the Scriptures for themselves, and a newcomer found what she had come for.

On Saturday 9 May the church in Halifax held its open meeting at the North Woodside Community Centre in Dartmouth, in the room and on Zoom. The theme was “A Fresh Sight of Christ”. The brethren set out the chairs, opened in worship, and read the Scriptures in turn.
The meeting was taught by question and answer. Is the church an organisation or an organism? The brethren did not agree, and searched it out. “An organisation within the organism is submission. Outside of it, it's control.”
This is actually what I needed. It's very encouraging.
When the floor was opened, one who had come for the first time spoke: “While he was talking, I was seeing myself. The essence of this is to remind me to come out, to remind me to take the things of God more seriously. This is actually what I needed. That is why I registered.”
Before the room was given back, the brethren arranged the next day's gathering themselves, with a brother of the church to bring the word.
“Come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4
