Matthew 9:38
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest.
Every journey begins and ends in prayer. Wherever you are, you can support the work by praying for it.
Why we pray
“Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” Psalm 127:1
Paul planted and Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. We pray because the work is the Lord’s.
“That God would open unto us a door of utterance.” Colossians 4:3
Several of the churches on this site began with a door we could not have opened ourselves, such as the burst tyre on the road to Bamburgh.
“And then shall the end come.” Matthew 24:14
The gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world before the end comes. We pray toward that day.

The pattern
After this manner therefore pray ye
“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9–13
- Worship: hallowed be thy name
- The kingdom: thy kingdom come
- Surrender: thy will be done
- Provision: our daily bread
- Forgiveness: as we forgive
- Protection: deliver us from evil
