Annul by fire: anointing the eastern gates

Before a church could be planted in Halifax, the Lord sent two men to the ocean with anointing oil, to Port Borden by day and New Harbour in a storm at night.

The morning after arriving in Halifax, the Holy Spirit spoke about the ancient princes of the land and covenants made with ocean deities at the eastern gates of Canada. The instruction was clear: pour anointing oil into the Atlantic and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, replacing the libation poured by early ruling families. “Annul by fire.”

On Prince Edward Island the team first anointed stones and cast them into the Gulf, then found a wharf for direct contact with the water. In Fredericton they anointed City Hall. On the Friday night they drove an hour to New Harbour in heavy rain. The waves were high and boisterous, the night pitch dark, the wind strong. The God of all power gave them boldness fiercer than lions, and they anointed the eastern gates of Nova Scotia, opening them to the Gospel of the Kingdom.

The next morning, in a hotel meeting room in Dartmouth, the Halifax Christian Fellowship was planted.
